X-ray (radiography) is the fastest and most accessible form of medical imaging. It uses a low dose of ionising radiation to produce images of bones and dense structures within the body. Can I have an X-ray if I'm pregnant?
Ideally, X-rays are avoided during pregnancy, particularly in the first trimester. If clinically urgent, the radiographer will take precautions to minimise foetal dose. Always inform the team if you may be pregnant.
How quickly will I get results?
